Router MAC Change to Obtain New IP for Cable Modem

Using a Linksys BEFSR41 wired router to demonstrate changing the Router WAN MAC address to obtain a new WAN IP address via Cable Modem. The priciple applies to all routers which support WAN MAC cloning. The general concept is NOT restricted to Linksys or this exact model. The BEFSR41 was chosen due to its simplicity for purposes of demonstration. The exact menu location of the WAN MAC will vary from brand to brand and model to model. Aside from that, the method remains the same.
